The inspiration for this painting was the Celtic tree of life which is symbolic of harmonious coupling; the tree is primarily a symbol of growth – in this artwork, the growing love of a new couple. Two different sources meet and intertwine passionately into a new harmony, lit from within by their great love. The biblical tree has always been a source of comparison to the human being; both need the four basic elements in order to exist: air, water, fire (sun) and earth.
